Though our clientele varies greatly from local to national Interior Designers, vacation rental management companies, property owners, and specialty event vendors/producers, our services all render the same basic group of logistic needs. We are able to assist each of these clients logistically with unique and strategic services to satisfy their needs.
You may be thinking to yourself, what information will Ocotillo need from me? Well, we’ve thought of that too and it’s fairly simple. We’ve created a basic list for us get to started:
- Do you need items moved or picked up from your home or a manufacturer?
- How many items should we be expecting?
- Do you have a list of said items for us to cross reference for your account?
- If not, a brief item description, along with size, color, quantity, and vendor will be helpful for our receiving team.
- Would you like to have us process any freight damage claims or manufacturer defects while quality inspecting your items?
- Would you like to have your items assembled at a lower rate than on site with a local moving company?
- When do you expect your project to be ready for installation?
- Do you have a preference in whether your installation is completed using a quality traditional moving service or a White Glove installation company?
- Would you like to have anyone else CC’d on all communications? i.e. Spouse, Accountant, Project Manager, etc.
As a receiving warehouse, what you should expect from Ocotillo Services during this process is fairly simple. In an attempt to keep you well informed yet always in control, we will primarily only notify you if there is an issue of any kind, with the “No news is good news.” methodology. As we thoroughly and consistently communicate with you throughout your project, in order for us to make timely decisions and handle your project efficiently we do ask that you respond in a timely manner if clear action is requested. Once we have input on these particular situations, we handle the matter 100% of the way through to completion.
When our services are needed by means of a home renovation or refreshing a tired and outdated rental property, we are here to help. By putting your needs at the top of our priorities, we are able to provide a top-notch truly customer focused experience. While much of our work begins locally, our projects don’t always stay local. We regularly help clients coordinate logistics that extend beyond our immediate service areas, from receiving furniture for an out-of-state installation to packing and shipping a treasured piece across the country. If your project requires something outside of our everyday services, our team will work with you to find the right solution.
Why use a receiving warehouse?
Furniture logistics can be more complicated than having an order shipped directly to a home or jobsite. Many furniture manufacturers and freight carriers are designed to deliver to commercial receiving facilities equipped to accommodate large trucks, pallets, crates, and oversized pieces.
That’s where Ocotillo comes in.
Our Palm Springs and San Diego warehouses provide commercial receiving facilities with loading areas for full-size freight trucks, dedicated receiving hours, equipment for handling large and heavy pieces, and a team available to properly receive your shipments.
Freight carriers are generally responsible for transporting an item to its destination, but that doesn’t necessarily mean bringing a 400-pound marble console into a home, inspecting it for damage, storing it until the rest of the project arrives, or coordinating its final installation.

Getting started
Contact our warehouse and our team will walk you through our services, pricing, and what to expect. Setting up an account typically takes about 10 minutes.
We’ll collect a few basic details, including:
- Your name and contact information
- Billing information
- Project or delivery address
- Preferred payment method
- Any project-specific receiving, storage, delivery, or installation needs
Once your account is established, you can begin directing shipments to our warehouse. From there, we keep you informed as items arrive and help coordinate the next steps for your project.
Interior Designers
Ocotillo was built around the needs of interior designers. We provide a single point of contact for receiving, inspection, storage, assembly, delivery, and installation coordination, helping you keep projects organized without having to manage every logistical detail yourself.
Whether you’re furnishing one room or coordinating an entire residence, your items can arrive at our warehouse as they become available and remain organized by project until you’re ready for delivery or installation.

This allows your team to stay involved in the project without becoming responsible for tracking shipments, storing furniture, coordinating multiple deliveries, or finding a solution every time a large item arrives.
Homeowners
You don’t need to be an interior designer to use Ocotillo.
If you’re furnishing a new home, remodeling, ordering furniture while you’re out of town, or simply need somewhere reliable to receive a large shipment, we can help.
From a sectional sofa or canopy bed to lighting, rugs, artwork, and accessories, our warehouse can receive and hold your items until you’re ready for them. When the time comes, we can also help coordinate delivery and installation.
Commercial Projects & Special Events
Ocotillo also works with businesses, vendors, galleries, event producers, and other trade professionals who need temporary receiving, storage, and logistics support.
For festivals, trade events, pop-ups, product displays, commercial installations, and other special projects, we can receive merchandise and equipment ahead of time, store it until needed, and coordinate delivery or pickup based on the requirements of the project.
